Carrick v. Clones U16 Match Report

Carrick Rovers U16 go from strength to strength, after a great win over Cootehill  last weekend. This weekend we entertained Clones in the SFAI Cup. Against a vastly improved Clones side, this was a tight match from the onset, although Carrick had probably the better chances.

Carrick broke the deadlock when great work from Darragh Alfred down the right, saw him hit a superb cross which was met by Cameron Etherington who struck a great volley giving the keeper no chance.

The score was 1-0 at half-time whilst after the break, the Carrick midfield of Michael Keenan & Jack Slavin were dominant. Also for Carrick, Thomas Sheerin was outstanding. Carrick finally put the result out of sight when Jack Markey was on the end of a cross and struck a thunderous half volley into the bottom corner.

Final result: Carrick Rovers 2-0 Clones.
