Juvenile Presentation Night Summary

Carrick Rovers AFC held their Annual Juvenile Presentation last Thursday evening 27th June in Vanity Niteclub, Carrickmacross. A large crowd was in attendance with both Juvenile Players and their Parents as well as a number of special guests, there to receive numerous awards and medals. This Presentation was organized to mark what was another outstanding year on the pitch for the Juvenile section of the club. Special Guests on the night were Tom Mohan, current Republic of Ireland U/17’s Manager and Regional Development Officer for Cavan, John Crudden RDO for Monaghan, Martin Kieran, Emerging Talent Co-ordinator for the Cavan / Monaghan Underage League, as well as 2 former Carrick Rovers Players from the past, Tom Coyle and John McLoughlin, there to receive Special Merit Awards. After a superb meal, supplied by the Fiddlers Elbow staff the awards part of the night got under way.

First up were the CMUL 13’s Premier side who were Runners-up in the CMUL Shield Competition. Next was the CMUL 14’s Championship side who were also Runners-up in their Shield Competition. They were followed by our CMUL 14’s Premier side who won their League and Cup as well as finishing up Runners-up in the League Cup Final. Then we moved onto the North Eastern Counties Schoolboys League 17’s Squad who were Runners-up in their League and won the NECSL 17’s Cup. Tom Mohan and John Crudden presented these medals to these groups of players.

We moved onto the Individual Awards part of the night with the following Awards handed out.

The next set of Trophies were to players who are representing the Club on ETP Squads at Tournaments this Summer and are as follows.

CMUL 12’s ETP Foyle Cup: Oisin O’Hanlon.

CMUL 13’s ETP Macron Cup: Liam Og Murray and Dylan McCahey.

CMUL 14’s ETP Kennedy Cup: Lorcan Murnaghan, Edward Walshe, Tommy Byrne, Sean Burns, Peter McElroy and Jerome Abekyamwale.

CMUL 17’s ETP Foyle Cup. Patrick Larney, David Wilson and Cian Matthews.


The final Award was the Late Jim Brady Perpetual Trophy, which is awarded to the Juvenile Player that the Club see as being the best example commitment and attitude wise to the rest of the Club and was awarded to David Wilson.

The night was concluded with addresses from Club Chairman, David McSharry, Tom Mohan and John Crudden.
