The 2nd Annual " John Giles Walk of Dreams ", takes place on the 7th of May. This year there is a walk being held in Monaghan Town and we are trying to encourage as many of our players and their Relatives to represent Carrick Rovers and the Soccer Community on this walk. Sponsorship cards are at present being distributed and all monies received will be greatly appreciated. Further details will be published nearer the event.

Torro 1-0 Carrick Rovers
NECSL 16 Premier

Rovers 16's travelled to Torro on Saturday afternoon to play the local team in the NECSL Premier Shield. On a bobbly, hard pitch with a strong breeze blowing, it was never going to be a day to play nice football. Rovers never got going and the midfield of Patrick Larney and Padraig Marron had their hands full against a strong Torro pair. Torro were playing football to suit the conditions, putting the ball in the air as often as possible and asking questions of Carrick's centre-half pairing of Thomas Finnegan and Ian Martin.

Carrick Rovers 3-4 Newtown
NECSL 16 Premier

Newtown made the short trip to the Convent Lands on Saturday morning looking for the 3 points that could possibly win the NECSL 16's Premier League for them. They got of to a flyer racing into a 2-0 lead within the opening 12 minutes after some very poor defending by the home team.
