Carrick Rovers 2-5 Rossin Rovers

Carrick’s slim hope of winning the C Reserve League were dashed by an in form Rossin Rovers side who tore through a limp team performance from Carrick to put themselves in the driving seat with their own league ambitions. Due to the clubs involvement in the FAI Junior Cup 6th round on Sunday, the game was played in Kingscourt, the surface set up the match for a good passing game but Carrick failed to produce.

Cavan Celtic 1-0 Carrick Rovers
MCSL Div 1

On Sunday Rovers travelled to Gortakeegan Astro turf to take on a well organised Cavan side. With Rovers needing to bounce back from a demorolising defeat the previous Sunday, they started well and threatened the home sides goal early on with good work down both flanks courtesy of Paddy Finnegan and Shane Rooney. It was all in vain though as they couldn't make the Cavan keeper work.

U14 V Killbarrack

Carrick Rovers U14 squad hit the headlines during the week, when their SFAI Goodson Cup tie with NDSL side Killbarrack Utd featured in the Daily Star's weekly Junior Soccer bulletin Target. The article featured a team photograph and an in depth report on the game which Rovers won 3-2. This was great publicity for the lads and for Carrick Rovers in general. Well done and the best of luck to the squad in the next round of the competition.
