MDL C Res V Trim Town

Carrick Rovers 2-5 Trim Town

Carrick’s winning streak came to an end at the hands of Trim Town on Saturday last. It was an inept performance which we all hope to forget quickly. After the great win against the league leaders the week before, Carrick took the visit of Trim Town far too lightly and were duly punished for their complacency.

U15 SFAI Cup

Castleknock 1-4 Carrick Rovers

Niall Clerkin

Rovers U15 squad travelled to Dublin on Sunday morning to take on Castleknock Celtic in the 1st Round of the SFAI Cup. The visitors settled straight away and were not fazed by their hosts. Within 3 minutes they created a clear chance with some great work down the left between James Lambe and Oisin McDonnell with the latter holding of the centre-half, turning and delivering a pinpoint cross for his striking partner, Saul Carolan, whose first time shot just whistled past the upright.

Reilly Cup V Albion Rovers

Carrick Rovers 1-0 Albion Rovers

Carrick’s Premier Reserve side progressed into the third round of the Reilly Cup by the narrowest margin in a game which they dominated from the off but the lack of vision and composure by the Carrick men made for a tense and frustrating match to watch.

Disappointing result in cup for Rovers

Cavan Celtic 4-1 Carrick Rovers
Rovers made the short trip to Kingscourt on Sunday to take on Cavan Celtic in the Sean Woods Cup a competition that has served Rovers well in the past.
Rovers had to use Saturdays Reserve players again as manager Rory McEneaney was yet again let down by 'no shows' on Sunday morning.  With a strong side on paper fielded, Rovers went a goal down early when a lack of concentration at the back let Cavan in for their first and only goal of the half.

NECSL U14 V Kells Blackwater

Kells Blackwater 4-1 Carrick Rovers

Rovers U14 side made the trip to Grange outside of Kells to take on the local side Kells Blackwater on Saturday morning. The game started brightly with the home side pressing strongly to open the score, but they found the Carrick defence, being well marshalled by Mikey Murnaghan and Thomas Finnegan, were giving nothing away. This Kells team is much changed from that of last year, having made more summer signings than Man City.
