Carrick Rovers 3-1 Ballyjamesduff

Rovers U16's team completed an incredible season by beating Ballyjamesduff in the Premier Shield Final in order to complete a superb treble which included the Division 1 League and the HSE Cup.

U16 Captain Adam Waller with the management team of Peter Maxwell and Johnny Hand

Ballyjamesduff would have fancied themselves going into this game as they were Premier Division champions, but the Carrick boys were a confident bunch and believed in their own ability, never once letting the thought of losing the game enter their heads.

Carrick Rovers 3-1 Trim Celtic

Carrick Rovers U16's went into Saturdays HSE Cup Final hoping to complete the double, having the league in the bag while also looking forward to the Premier Shield final next Monday.

U16 HSE Cup Winning Team

In order to win the Cup they had to overcome a good Trim Celtic side on a lovely Saturday morning in the MDL grounds Navan. Rovers started like a team possessed and with the hunger for the game ahead, after only 5 mins Cillian Leegan and Paudi Kirk exchanged passes before Kirk played a superb ball out the left wing for Sol Carolan to cross into the box, Adam Waller got his head to it but it just cleared the crossbar.

Kingscourt 1-2 Carrick Rovers (aet)

Carrick Rovers made it through to the semi final of the HSE shield on Saturday morning last with a hard fought extra time win over neighbours Kingscourt on a score line of 2 goals to 1. After beating Kingscourt the week before in the Cup semi final Carrick knew that it was going to be a tough match to win as Kingscourt would surely be out for revenge.

Kingscourt 1-2 Carrick Rovers

Carricks U16 team made the short journey over to neighbours and Premier Division side Kingscourt to play this much anticipated HSE cup semi final. Rovers knew what to expect as they had beaten two Premier sides before this in the cup, Parkvilla in the quarter final and Kells/Blackwater in the last 16.Before the game it didn’t take much for Rovers manager Peter Maxwell to get the players ready as their attitude was just spot on, relaxed but not too relaxed, they all knew what was at stake and this was the game they had been waiting for all season.

Oldcastle 2-1 Carrick Rovers

Rovers U16’s suffered their first league defeat at the hands of Oldcastle on Saturday morning last. After winning the league the week before you would have expected the Carrick lads to go out and play like league champions, sadly this was not the case. Oldcastle started the brighter and remained on top throughout the game apart from a ten minute spell at the start of the second half where Carrick upped their performance.
