Carrick Rovers 1-0 Trim Town

A solitary strike from front man JP McNally was enough to earn Carrick Rovers 3rds all 3 points in an entertaining encounter with Trim Town at Birdy Development Park on Saturday last to move the Monaghan men onto 23 points and continue their recent surge up the league table.

Kells Blackwater were the visitors to the Shercock Road on Saturday morning for a division 1 league game.After the mauling by Parkvilla the previous game the Rovers team had a chance to restore a bit of pride and prove they are a better team than the last result had indicated. The game started with a minutes silence for the late Damien Crosby, which was observed respectfully by both sets of players and supporters.

Birdy Development Park was the place to be for excitement on Sunday last when the second and third placed teams in the MDL Premier Division locked horns in a titanic struggle with the prize on offer being a massive 3 points in terms of the race to the title in a highly competitive finish to the Premier Division season.

Carrick Rovers moved back to the top of the Meath and District League Premier Division on Sunday last when a late rally saw them snatch victory from the jaws of defeat as they scored twice in the last five mins to overcome a very resilient Ardee Celtic side who will have been disappointed to have come out of this encounter empty handed.
