Torro 1-2 Carrick Rovers

Carrick put on a great battling display on Thursday night against a physically bigger Torro side. Torro tipped off, Brendan Duff intercepted the second pass and from the half way line threaded a pass through the defence for Paddy O'Rourke who outpaced the Torro defence in a 30 yard run and cooly passed the ball under the Torro keeper into the net. Carrick 1-0 up after 17 seconds.

On Friday evening last Rovers Under 13 team entertained our neighbours Blayney Rovers in a challenge match on the Shercock Road. Although the season is over this team is still keen to continue playing and because Blayney are not attached to a league yet they were eager to play matches to be organised for the start of a new season.

Carrick Rovers ensured that the Meath and District League Premier Division title would have to be decided via a play off after a fantastic last day win against Duleek Celtic at the Tollstone, Duleek on Sunday last saw them end their league campaign locked on 51 points at the top of the League Table with reigning champions Rock Celtic.

Rovers Under 13 team were invited to the MDL grounds in Navan last Saturday for a challenge against 2nd Division Johnstown. Johnstown are in a semi-final of the Shield and wanted a warm-up game in preparation for that.
