Park Celtic 3-1 Carrick Rovers

This was the last game of the season and turned out to be a game of missed chances for Carrick. Park Celtic went ahead from their first real attack after 3 minutes. The Carrick defence was pressed back to the 6 yard line and the ball passed back to an unmarked Park Celtic midfielder who hit the top corner of the net from 18 yards.

Carrick Rovers (Div 2) 1-3 Trim Celtic (Div 2)

Carrick started the game at a ferocious pace not allowing Trim to settle on the ball. Carrick midfielders Sewell, Winters and Keyes dominated Trim and pushed forward into attack at every opportunity.

Torro 1-2 Carrick Rovers

Carrick put on a great battling display on Thursday night against a physically bigger Torro side. Torro tipped off, Brendan Duff intercepted the second pass and from the half way line threaded a pass through the defence for Paddy O'Rourke who outpaced the Torro defence in a 30 yard run and cooly passed the ball under the Torro keeper into the net. Carrick 1-0 up after 17 seconds.

Carrick Rovers 1-1 Navan Town

Carrick faced into a strong wind for the first half. Navan applied pressure with long clearances and forced a couple of corners which Carrick scrambled clear. At the other end Carrick put in crosses from right and left and had a couple of corners but were not able to get a clear shot. After 20 minutes Carrick won a free kick 35 yards out on the right. As the kick dropped over the Navan defence, Fergal Winters was first to react and passed the ball into the net from 5 yards. Carrick pressed for a second but without success.
